As we move into January and a new year, I’m reminding myself that, new year or not, it’s still early winter, which means time of coziness and turning inward and conserving energy. Easing in is what saves me when returning to a new semester when I’m not quite ready, and starting slowly is what makes transitions and new habits feel both reasonable and sustainable.
